The slant bed design provides greater rotational movement for parts that are deformed during heat treat; parts not previously machined; or parts that can easily be deformed. Due to the stiffness of the machine and bearing system including the slant bed design, the above parts will be ground significantly rounder than on a conventional horizontal bed centerless.
